A cyclist was hit when a car lost control on San Carlos Boulevard and Broadway Avenue Thursday evening. The toxicology report has not been released yet, though the Fort Myers Beach Community News Bulletin notes that “the press release stated the accident was alcohol-related.”
The driver, Timothy Greg Spinelli, told police that he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to navigate a tricky curve. The cyclist (no name released yet) was killed instantly. Our hearts and minds are with the family of the cyclist today as well as with the drive of the automobile. Unfortunately, there are a lot of accidents this time of year on our roads, so please be safe out there!
